The Upper
Pemigewasset
Historical Society is seeking
documentary material
about
mills, mines, logging,
logging
railroads, hotels and other early
industries in New
Hampshire's
White Mountains.
We'd be particularly interested in early
photographs and documents such as letters, diaries, ledger books and
account books. Hand drawn maps and surveys would also be
of interest.
The towns that we're interested
in include: Lincoln, Woodstock, Thornton, Campton, Franconia,
Livermore, Zealand, Warren, Rumney, Landaff, Carroll, Bethlehem,
Albany, Bartlett, Jackson, Sandwich, Waterville, Jefferson, and the
Crawford Notch which includes places like Hart's Location,
Sergeant's and Elkins Grant, etc.
This region also includes a number of towns
that no longer exist: Carrigain, Jericho, Whitcherville,
Dundee, Johnson, Gale River, Peeling, Jonestown, Fabyan's, Fairview,
and others. Material from these towns would also be of
particular interest to us.
If you have material of this type, please
